Video: New Nintendo 3DS loading times compared – Just how fast is it?
The New Nintendo 3DS features a speedy new CPU under the hood, but what does that actually mean for games?
We put our New 3DS next to our trust 3DS XL and loaded up Smash Bros. on both, the difference is quite amazing.
Not only does the game load faster but it also closes a hell of a lot faster too. You can also boot to Miiverse in seconds, the browser in seconds – even before the older console even reboots.
It’s not just initial loads either, all loading times in the game have been in reduced allowing you to get into the battle quicker.
We’ll have a full run down of the New 3DS later in the week, but for now enjoy this quick video.

My regular 3DS doesn’t take that long to load Smash. Are you using the same SD-cards in both?
And by that I mean same brand?
My 3DS takes about the same as this XL. 35 Seconds to boot Smash Bros from cart.
I ran mine (n a 3DSXL) in sync with the vid and it takes exactly the same time 🙁
Also, mine is loading from a cart, not the SD card, if that matters
