In an interview from Gamasutra with Benoit Galarneau, producer of Ubisoft’s critically panned series Petz, Galarneau revealed the reason why Ubisoft feels the need to tack a Z on to every title they release. Galarneau explicitly stated that the reason for the grammatically incorrect names is that it assist in differentiating the product. Galarneau’s example included that instead of promoting “”Dogs”” in general, they are instead promoting “”Dogz””, the title Ubisoft made and produced.
