The Amazing Spider-Man: Ultimate Edition not releasing in Australia

The fortune of the Wii U in Australia just gets worse and worse with Activision today confirming that The Amazing Spider-Man: Ultimate Edition will not be released in Australia

The Ultimate Edition of The Amazing Spider-Man is the original title with all of the original DLC included on the disk. It’s set for release next week in Europe.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Ultimate Edition will now be the third game for the console that is going to be passed over for release here in Australia. The first was the launch title 007 Legends last year and the second was The Walking Dead Survival Instinct. All of them Activision titles.

We’re not sure why it’s not coming, other than it’s not. However the news has come straight from Activision themselves.

If you’re keen for a copy you’d be wise to seek out an importer for the UK version.

I had a feeling this would happen, and I was right.

WTF. Surely Spider-Man is a popular enough character to make releasing an Aussie version profitable? Oh well there’s always ozgameshop I guess…

This is ridiculous.. Surely they could make some profit releasing it here in Australia? While im not interested in Legends, if Walking Dead was half decent I would have considered it and Spiderman games tend to be quite fun.

If its because its physically not viable, then why not atleast the eShop? The Wii U isn’t doing that bad worldwide.

Or maybe they just realise they don’t have to spend the money over here, and that if someone really wants there game they will go to import shops?.. At any rate, this is poor form from Activision and a really poor showing to the fans of their games.

Given that there’s the option of digital distribution, what excuse do any firms have for not releasing the title? If there’s no marketing, then the expenses to do so are frankly negligible to a company like Activision.
