Super Nintendo World construction officially starts at Universal Studios

Remember that stage that was spotted at Universal Studios in Japan that looked like a level out of Super Mario Bros?

Well Shigeru Miyamoto and Mario have taken to that stage for a ground-breaking ceremony. Construction of the Super Nintendo World attraction has commenced!

The 60 billion yen ($700 million AUD) world will feature Nintendo attractions, shops & restaurants and even a Mario Kart ride.

There is even a preview video showing with Mario showing off a concept of the park. Super Nintendo World will open in Osaka in 2020.

Haha that zoomed out photo makes it look like no one turned up for the show. All that was missing is chirping crickets.

Not sure why it’s called Super Nintendo world when the trailer is exclusively mario stuff. I mean, I expect they’ll add other franchises, but the teaser doesn’t show any of them…
