In a reply to a question by a fan on the Twitter of Alan Quinto, community manager for EA Sports, it has been revealed that the Wii version of NBA Jam will not have online multiplayer. This piece of bad news is magnified now that EA have announced that they will be giving away a downloadable version of NBA Jam for free with every copy of the upcoming NBA Elite 11 - a game only available on HD consoles. This means that not only will HD console owners get the game for free, but they will also be getting an enhanced version with online multiplayer.

This kick to the stomach while we’re down will mostly likely affect sales of the Wii version of NBA Jam, set for a release sometime around October.
