Guitar Hero may not be the sales force it once was, but the competitive scene is still flourishing, and an official Guitar Hero event is on the way. Starting this month at Westfield shopping centres all around Australia, the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Battle Sessions event is set to settle the score and find the ultimate ’Demi-God of Rock’. There is a cash prize of $10,000 to win and a meet-and-greet with Metallica.

Along with the above skills competition there will be a rock-off for the best-looking rock-inspired costumes at the events. The winner with the most hair-raising costume will walk away with an entertainment package and a tonne of gaming prizes.

Details are scarce at the moment, with the official site just having a neat looking holder page. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is due out September 29th.
