Shin Megami Tensei developer dissolved
Atlus dissolved by owner Index Holdings, but the Atlus brand will still continue..

In an official announcement Index Holdings, the owner of Atlus, announced that the Japanese developers of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise would be dissolved, however, the Atlus brand will still be around, but it is unknown if that will affect the development and publishing of and current games and/or future games.

The reason for the dissolving of Atlus has been stated by Index Holdings as to streamline its focus as a business and only concentrate on ’profitable core areas’. Atlus have yet to release a statement on the dissolving, but have stated that they will release an official statement soon.

Index Holdings have owned Atlus since 2006. Hopefully this news doesn’t affect the development of any future games in their established franchises or brand new IPs.
