The high-score record for Donkey Kong has been a widely publicised feat. They even made a documentary movie about it, you may have heard of it. But never mind that battle, for the original Donkey Kong arcade’s high score has seen a new challenger step up to the plate and knock a home run. That was a pretty crap pun but whatever.

Hank Chien, a plastic surgeon from New York, has toppled the record with a huge score of 1,061,700 on an original Donkey Kong arcade machine. The previous record was 1,050,200 by Billy Mitchell, who in 2007 took the record from Steve Weibe who had a mere (!) 1,049,100 points.

Expect someone else to break it one day, but for now it’s a mighty mighty accomplishment.
