Fingers Crossed – No online fee for PAL Monster Hunter Tri
Capcom’s upcoming Monster-bashing RPG may be exempt from subscription fees in Europe and elsewhere in an attempt to shore up interest in western territories.

According to French site LiveWii, Capcom has disclosed that the European release of Monster Hunter Tri on Wii may not require a paid subscription to enjoy the game online. The Monster Hunter games may have a huge following in Japan, but they have yet to make an impact in the west. If the rumour is to be believed, the exemption from fees would help Capcom reach a greater audience and make the game more palatable to those reluctant to try out the game. Capcom’s statement was apparently made at games exhibition held by Micromania – one of France’s largest video game retailers.

We’ve received no word on whether Australia will also be exempt from fees, but surely if Europe goes subscription, then we can expect the same concession.
