Once shunned by Iwata, it seems Nintendo has decided to offer only the highest quality games at a cheaper price.

While it’s not Nintendo’s own titles getting the discount, Nintendo has announced the ’Everyone’s Recommendation Selection’ for Japan. Instead of being like a Players Choice range where good sales are rewarded with a cheaper price, this selection of third party titles has all been selected from the ratings in the Nintendo Channel in Japan from users. The titles in the range include;

* 428 (Sega, Platinum)
* Muramasa Demon Blade (Marvelous, Gold)
* Arc Rise Fantasia (Marvelous, Silver)
* Family Ski World Ski & Snowboard (Namco Bandai, Silver)
* One Piece Unlimited Cruise Episode 1 (Namco Bandai, Silver)
* Tales of Symphonia: Ratatoskr no Kishi (Namco Bandai, Bronze)
* Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Meteor (Namco Bandai, Bronze)

This is another sign that Nintendo is keen to help out third parties this year; most of the games above sold quite poorly but are actually good and were reviewed highly. It’s great to see Nintendo pointing out what’s good and what’s not on their console. They’re launching later next month in Japan on February 25 for ¥2,800 or about $35 Aussie dollars. Usually Wii games retail for about 6,800 yen or $58 Aussie dollars. There is no indication whether or not these will be the only titles offered or there will be more in the future. However, 75 titles qualify for the range, so more could be on the way.
