Nintendo DSi XL dated for Europe
If the first DS is called the DS Phat... then what is this? Oh yeah, release date....

The Official Nintendo Magazine’s website has revealed the European release date for the jumbo-sized DSi XL. It’ll be released on March 5th and will be available in two colours, wine red and dark brown. Like its Japanese cousin, it’ll come preloaded with DSiWare titles A Little Bit of... Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: Arts Edition, Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera Function, Flipnote Studio and the Nintendo DSi Browser.

The DSi XL comes with two huge 4.2-inch screens which are 93% larger than those on the Nintendo DS Lite, and offer a wider viewing angle. This also goes well with the new hinge ’snap’ point which allows you to rest the DSi XL on a table and play it more like a laptop. The jumbo-sized pen-like stylus (which doesn’t fit in the unit) also comes with the DSi XL.

No pricing yet and, of course, no date for Australia as of yet apart from a vague Q1 2010. Expect a higher price point than the current DSi, naturally. Remember kiddies, this isn’t a replacement for your DS Lite or DSi, so no angry ’but I want to upgrade’ comments. It’s simply an alternative!
