Fans of Square Enix’s prolific role-playing game series would be able to recall a bar, known as Ludia’s Bar/Tavern, which appears several times during the series. In a strange twist, Ludia’s will be opening it’s doors in real-life Toyko, Japan.

The menu will consist of several Dragon Quest themed food and drink amidst, we presume, Dragon Quest inspired decor. The original, less concrete version of Ludia’s has occurred in numerous Dragon Quest games to date, providing a place for players to chat with party members and other local non-player characters.

Ludia’s is set to open for business on January 28th to celebrate the release of the much anticipated Dragon Quest IX in Japan. Will Ludia’s ever make it out of Japan? Personally, we doubt it.
