Nintendo Australia takes the reins on Monster Hunter Tri
A new publishing deal will see Nintendo Australia and Europe in control of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri..

Seems Nintendo is living up to its promise to work more with third parties in 2010. Today Capcom has announced that Nintendo’s Australia and Europe will be charge of all the sales, marketing and distribution of Monster Hunter Tri. This isn’t the first time either of the ‘tendos have done this with Nintendo Australia being the sole of distributor of Capcom games up until THQ took over.

“Nintendo has identified Monster Hunter Tri as a key title for the Wii platform in 2010,” stated Michael Pattison, Senior Director Marketing, Capcom Europe, “We are really excited about partnering with Nintendo to further develop this franchise.” Laurent Fischer at Nintendo Europe commented “Monster Hunter has a huge and passionate following in Japan and we are looking forward to introducing the Monster Hunter Tri to a whole new audience in Europe as the series makes its first appearance on the Wii.”

Monster Hunter Tri is set for release in April, but it’s not known if we’ll be paying the monthly fee for the game. The game is getting polished slightly for release here and Wii Speak implementation has even been rumoured.

Is this a sign that Nintendo keen to take a greater interest in quality third party titles and even help them along? Nintendo Australia recently did it with Cricket and it’s worked wonders.

Also the Black Wii Japan got at the same time would be nice.
