Even more Virtual Console games have been rated by a local classifications board now, with both Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Ironclad receiving ratings. Both of these have never seen a release outside of Japan in their original format, so perhaps we have another Hanabi Festival on the way?
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is a PC Engine CD game originally released in Japan in 1993, and as such includes some nice CD-quality music. The only time this game has been seen outside of Japan was on The Dracula X Chronicles for PSP, on which it was fully translated into English. Hopefully the Virtual Console release will incorporate this.
Originally planned for a North American release, Ironclad ended up staying in Japan. The game would actually work perfectly well on NA systems, with a full English translation included on the disc. This means we shouldn’t have to worry about that when it arrives on the Virtual Console.
