Well, as we all know, the Wii has been very successful over the last few years. Why? Is it the good games? Is it the originality of the control scheme? We’ll never know for sure, but perhaps one of the contributing factors is the Wii’s comparatively good reliability.

Technical website CNET recently published the results of a survey regarding the reliability of participant’s consoles. Out of 1,128 gamers in the UK, 60% of Xbox 360 users reported that they had experienced a hardware failure, 16% of PlayStation3 users copped the same treatment, while only 6% of Wii users ever experienced problems. For the statistic nuts, 562 of those surveyed owned a Xbox360, 473 owned a PS3, and 591 were proud Wii owners.
