Wiiware developers find it hard to get paid, part two.
Nintendo respond to the claim regarding developers only getting paid after their game sell a certain amount. .
In response to recent news that Nintendo do not pay WiiWare developers unless their game sells a certain amount, a spokesperson on behalf of Nintendo UK has cited the claims as “rumour and speculation”. The representative went on to say that “the terms, conditions and contracts between Nintendo and developers is a private and confidential matter.” It was reported yesterday that WiiWare developers do not get paid by Nintendo unless their games sell over a specific number, according to Independent Games Festival chairman Simon Carless. Carless said the threshold was in the thousands and unless a game passed the required number, the developers would not receive any return on their investment. Rumour and Speculation? Or something more? Guess we’ll never know for sure. Source: GoNintendo
