BBC to make iPlayer 3.0 run on Wii
Those wily old brits! British broadcaster BBC plan to release a fully functional, dedicated iPlayer channel- adding to the list of global media distributors looking to Wii as a venue for their content. The Wii version of the iPlayer service will be a standard-definiton version of the streaming software, which has been available in previous versions for mobile phones and other handheld devices. The service will be the first of it’s kind on the Wii released in the UK. The service provides video on-demand for a range of BBC programs. With the BBC being one of the worlds largest media organisations, this could be start of more media streaming services available on the console for the rest of the world..
