Ubisoft jump on Wii Ware with Protothea
Big publisher support for the WiiWare service has been scant so far but Ubisoft is stepping up to the Digital Distribution plate with Protothea — a port of a now three year old PC game which is being rejigged for the WiiWare launch later this month. The game is a top-down vertical scrolling shooter putting you in the mission of taking on deadly asteroids to disrupt the evil plans of “The Core“. The game has new missions bringing the total to ten, four new worlds, and a whole batch of bad guys to destroy. More inside.
The game also has completely shifted to the third dimension instead of just being a quasi 2d/3d game. ""Ubisoft is excited to bring Protothea exclusively to the platform and we feel it's a must-have WiiWare title. Protothea really reminds me of some of the best arcade games, with the Wii Remote as an added dimension. It's just a flurry of fast-paced action that anyone can simply pick up and enjoy."" The game will cost 1000 points when it’s released, but No Australian release has been confirmed. Source: Cubed3
