Nintendo Wii product manager Rob Lowe told MCV in their interview “As both Mario Party and Big Brain Academy are being aimed towards very broad audiences, we need substantial mass-market campaigns to back them up. These campaigns are of equal size to that of Mario Strikers initially – but will run for longer, with a second burst at Christmas.” Nintendo’s plan is to have a longer sales curve with these titles and to run the campaigns over months rather then weeks. Nintendo says this is going a non-traditional way, but so is the Wii’s target audience. Nintendo Australia hasn’t marketed Strikers much (if any) but it still sold well. Mario Party 8 is now less then a month away so marketing for that should start soon and Big Brain… Well who really knows? Source: MCV
