Nintendo Australia Unsure Over Big Three In 07
Nintendo Australia recently held a media conference for some of the ’Big-Wig’ Media outlets in Australia. At the event, Nintendo Australia confirmed that we will get Super Paper Mario this year (as we should). The fate of the "Big Three" is still up in the air for 2007 though..

The ’Big Three’ (as they have come to be known) are Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo Australia has not committed to a 2007 date for any of them- even Metroid, which has a date of August 20th in the USA. So why won’t Nintendo lock in the dates just yet?

Now before you pick up your pitch forks (or put them down if you have already) lets run through this potentially bad news first. Firstly off just because the games aren’t scheduled for release this year, doesn’t mean they won’t come. However, as we’ve stated before, due to the delay of Super Paper Mario and the already crowded schedule this Holiday season, we believe that either Mario Galaxy or Brawl will be pushed into 2008 for Australia, if not worldwide.

Nintendo Australia also never confirm a release until it’s locked in, which while is good and avoids delays after a games date has been announced, also creates tension and a perceived lack of care. Not announcing even a 2007 TBA date for these products is causing a lot of worry amongst fans and eventually consumers. If people look at release list and see no games sitting on the list in the future and you can’t confirm if they will even come, it gets people ramped up.

She’ll arrive this year or I’ll eat my hat.

In short, we’d guarantee that Metroid will be coming this year, and we suspect that either Brawl or Galaxy might just miss this year- unless, of course, Nintendo Australia lock it in soon, but it’s never confirmed until it is. Come on Nintendo Australia, use those record profits and give us our big three this year. Keep your eye out on Vooks for more details on the big three down under.
