Activision to boost support for Nintendo platforms
Activisions CEO Robert Kotick is ready to get his company behind Nintendo and reinvest in Nintendo’s Wii console amidst word that third parties are seeing success on the Wii that has not been seen for many years. For the last decade Nintendo software has dominated the sales charts giving across the impress that gamers are only interested in Nintendo titles on Nintendo platforms. Robert Kotick says this is no longer the case. More Inside..
“For a few generations, Nintendo software was better than third-party software. When you look at where we are today…we think we’re actually in the best position and probably even in a better position than the first-party to leverage our development dollars”. The Gamecube was a prime example where third party support dwindled after a very short 2 years and only First Party content, such as Metroid Prime and the Mario Party series kept the hardware afloat. To conclude Robert Kotick had to say, “There probably is no better product to take advantage of the capabilities of the Wii than Guitar Hero”. We hope it will be and with a rumoured release for the holiday season we might be rocking out on Guitar Heroes sooner than you expect. With all this said and done let’s hope they focus this new interest on great titles instead of the poorly executed and rushed games like Spider-man 3.
