Wii Publishers, Be careless and you’ll suffer
While the success of the Wii and DS is having a positive effect on the gaming industry, IDC analyst Bill Pidgeon has a warning for lazy publishers. “Publishers that provide quick and careless original and licensed titles or shoehorned ports of games designed for other platforms are going to suffer, as they should,"" says Pidgeon. More Inside.
""Nintendo has always had top shelf first party software, and the Nintendo challenge for third party publishers is to produce titles that can compete with Nintendo's games."" Although Nintendo is expanding the market, and you can expect to sell a few copies of your game as a result, you must remember that you are competing with Nintendo's own offerings. EA for example has seen this and is developing games specifically for the Wii (alongside some ports). In the end the better games will sell. Source: Gameindustry.biz
