Splatoon’s Splatfests go live on July 5th in Australia, new patch notes detailed

After a little bit of a false start, the Splatfest fun will be kicking in Splatoon in just over a week on July 5th. To be precise that 03:00 AEST on the Monday morning. That’s time zones!

The first Splatfest will be Rock vs Pop. Pick your side to fight for your favourite genre of music.

Before that though a new patch will be released bringing the game up to Version 1.3.0. The changes mostly relate to the new Splatfest modes. Changes include the ability to join the Splatfest early to avoid server congestion, if you can’t find a team after a battle it’ll fight the same team again.

Some weapons have also been nerfed and others buffed. The Inkstrike now shoots a consistent size where as before it was possible for it to be different sizes. The Kraken has been toned down a bit with ink more effective in reeling it.

Ninja Squid has seen the squid dash slow down, Stealth Jump takes longer to charge and Ink Resistance is less resistant!

Oh and there’s some stability thrown in. Well then, what do you think of the changes?

Would have liked to have seen a slight buff to the Inkbrush, just to save my finger from getting trigger cramps from mashing it so damn fast/long.
