Splatoon hardware bundles set for America and Europe
Both Nintendo America and Nintendo Europe have announced Splatoon flavoured Wii U hardware bundles, both are a little different and one of them doesn’t even come out the same time as the game.
Firstly the American bundle will be exclusively sold at Best Buy and include a copy of Nintendo Land. The copy of Splatoon comes as a download code in the box.
The European bundle actually has Splatoon in the box but instead of coming out the same time as the game will be released on June 19th. There’s no bundled copy of Nintendo Land.
Apart from those small changes the bundles are essentially the same and they all contain the stock standard black Premium Wii U. A shame for a game all about colour.
We’ll ask Nintendo Australia if there’s any chance we’ll be getting the bundle, but really its just a black Wii U and Splatoon isn’t it?

It’s ridiculous that they aren’t including the Squid amiibo inside the box, especially since the special edition of Splatoon is the only way that we can obtain that particular amiibo in Europe and Australia (plus it would give newcomers a little teaser of what amiibo has to offer).
Actually, we’re getting the Amiibo triple pack, not the special edition game bundle.
They could even release it with a price revision on the console given Australia still hasn’t seen an official price cut since launch.
Just a thought.
I wish there was something special like an amiibo or even a different colour (or ink all over it), that would be worth ‘upgrading’ for, otherwise it’s nice to see Nintendo still pumping out the bundles in 2015.
