Splatoon Global Testfire demo launching this weekend
Nintendo has announced that Splatoon will be getting a ‘Global Testfire Demo’ which should be available to download on the eShop now.
The demo however will only be playable at certain times over the weekend, thus the ‘Testfire’ part of the name. These demo periods will essentially act as stress tests for Nintendo oh and we do get to play the game as well.
Nintendo staffers will also be joining in on the demo as well, so you can shoot them for making the demo only available at limited times!
Nintendo UK is offering a discount on the final game for to those who download the demo. You’ll get the game for 10% off if you do so. No word yet if the deal will make it to Australia.

Saturday 9 May
- 11am – 12am AWST / 1pm – 2pm AEST
- 7pm – 8pm AWST / 9pm – 10pm AEST
Sunday 10 May
- 3am – 4am AWST / 5am – 6am AEST

Ugh, working all day Saturday. I’ll catch the late night Testfire and I’ll be up early Sunday for the other one.
Would be nice if multiplayer wasn’t solely reliant on online only, some people don’t have access and would like a family battle 🙂
I got an email from Nintendo that confirms the 10% discount for downloading the demo so guess it applies to us too!
Just got out of the first trial, the game is fun as hell!! Not completely sold on the controls though.. Too hard to turn the screen around at times.
Wasn’t sure if id enjoy this game, now I’m not sure I’m going to be able to put it down. Hope this sells, its a fantastic new IP!
