Shovel Knight digs its way into stores this October

Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight has been a runaway success for the team with now 700,000 copies digitally sold worldwide. Now it’ll get a chance to sell in stores with the game coming to retail this October, yes even in Australia.

The game will be launched on October 16th for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. The retail disc will be fully featured with the full first Shovel Knight campaign, the Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows update and a Challenge mode with 50 challenge levels to tackle.

Even better the game will come with a ‘lavish’ instruction manual, just the ones you used to get. It’ll be a full manual similar to the booklet Kickstarter backers got.

Shovel Knight will set you back $39.95 regardless of platform when it launches on October 16th.

Awesome, definitely one of my favourite games of recent times! I have it on 3DS but will totally pick it up again for Wii U.

I was tempted to get it for the Wii U digitally before but now it’ll be a day one purchase for me, I love my physical copies (though it is tempting to get it on xbone for the achievements hehe). Hopefully Mighty 9 comes over to Oz in physical form as well!
