Rumour: Has Nintendo delayed the Wii U Release for Europe?

Although Nintendo hasn’t announced a release date or price for the Wii U yet, a report from CVG suggests that the European release date has been pushed back. The delay allegedly pushed the date from sometime in November to December. The reason? Apparently it’s those age old “manufacturing issues”.

The report however suggests that Nintendo is still trying to get the Wii U out in North America before the lucrative Thanksgiving holidays. The report also suggests that Nintendo would have had announced a release date for the system already had these manufacturing issues not occurred.

If true this report means that Australia too could miss a 2012 release date. Of course with HD TV’s the excuse for a delay in PAL regions is becoming thinner and thinner.

Reality check time. Nintendo plays its cards close to its chest. Nintendo didn’t announce a release for the Wii until September before a December release. Nintendo also didn’t release the price or date for the 3DS until nearly a month before release here in Australia.

Take this one entirely with a pinch of salt.

The Wii was released in Australia in December and November in the US. Sounds about right if that were to happen again.

Pretty much about when I expected. I would love to see it launch November here but not expecting it until December at the earliest.

I certainly wasn’t expecting a November release for Australia. Nintendo’s main consideration is to get the US release before Thanksgiving! The rest of the world had to wait till December with the Wii! I just hope that if the reports about manufacturing issues are indeed correct, that Australia won’t get delayed until 2013!

Honestly with the amount of tech the gamepad, I can totally believe production issues on those things.

Yes I want this now but some times great things just take their time.
