Report: SNES Classic Mini enters production, coming out later this year

According to a report from Eurogamer, Nintendo is already working on a successor to the NES Mini. As you might expect it’s said to be the SNES Classic Mini.

The report suggests that Nintendo is already working on the console and that it should be out before the end of the year.

If we believe these reports then it makes some sense of the NES Mini being discontinued, even while still under great demand. Nintendo never expected the NES Mini production to continue in the first place and now has to work on the SNES version.

Which begs the question, which games from the SNES lineup would you like to see on the console? We know Mario, Zelda and F-Zero are probably there but what else do you want to see?

Unirally and I’m in.

    “Unirally and I’m in.”
I doubt Nintendo wants to open up that legal can of worms with Pixar again, which is why it’s pretty much the only Nintendo-published SNES game not on Wii U Virtual Console.

Killer instinct, Mortal Kombat 3 Ultimate and super ghouls and ghost comes to mind right but there is so many amazing games on the SNES so we can only hope that it pans out the same as the NES but I doubt it and can think of one way that Nintendo can stop such things but rather just wait and see what happens with that. 🙂

I’d love to see super Mario world 1 & 2, Super Mario kart, street fighter 2 turbo, super ghouls and ghosts, battletoads and double dragon, TMNT in time, Starwing, stunt race fx, Donkey Kong country, super swiv, king Arthers world and killer instinct to name a few.
Although I still have my two snes’s, all of those carts and then some from when I was a kid

I’m going to assume all of the Donkey Kong Country games will be included (from one to three) not to mention Super Mario Kart and the rest of the Mario games. I’m not sure if they would include Street Fighter 2 turbo as it may conflict with the switch release of Street fighter 2 Ultra being released in May but its definitely a possibility.

Nice list! I especially commend you on Pocky and Rocky!

I’d also like to add Terranigma, Megaman X, Illusion of Gaia, Actraiser, Kirby’s Dreamcourse, Kirby’s Funpak, Secret of Evermore… Okay, I realise that even if you don’t include the untranslated stuff like Clocktower, Seiken Densetsu 3 or Tales of Phantasia, there’s way too many SNES games to ever be truly satisfied with the list of what’ll be out on the SNES-mini.
