Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is Westward Bound

Capcom has announced that the previously Japan-exclusive Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will be coming to the West on the Nintendo 3DS eShop this Winter.

Capcom boasts that the game features “Full HD graphics”, though as the 3DS’s screen isn’t actually capable of outputting HD resolutions so we assume they just mean that the sprites have been improved over their original Nintendo DS counterparts.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will only be available via the 3DS eShop digitally, and will not be having a physical release outside of Japan.

Ace Attorney Trilogy is a collection of the first three games in the Phoenix Wright series, previously available for the Nintendo DS and Apple’s iOS platforms.

I have this on my phone. The new graphics are certainly crisp, I expect they will look better on the 3DS than the old DS games do.

It does take some getting used to though, at times it feels like they were redone by different artists than the original game.

I’m so excited for this. My first Phoenix Wright game was the 3DS eShop one and I couldn’t get enough. So happy I’ll be able to play these without having to track down the DS games!
