Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud announced for Switch in Japan

During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed in the Japanese stream that the latest version of Phantasy Star Online 2, subtitled “Cloud”, would be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2018.

The MMO, which has been available exclusively in Japan so far, has gotten previous releases on all sorts of devices, but this is the first time it’s coming to a Nintendo console. There’s no word on if it’ll come West, but considering no other version has, we wouldn’t get our hopes up. But hey, the Switch is region free, so it’s not like it’ll be impossible to play.

For those interested, you can get a look at the game in the video below. If it doesn’t skip to the relevant part, the timestamp is 37:52.

I loved Phantasy Star Online 1 + 2 on Gamecube, and would love it if this game got a release in Australia! Slim chance, but I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed!
