Nintendo rocks November NPD charts, more records broken

In what is turning out to be a broken record, Nintendo has had another freaking great month last month in the US and has broken several records along the way. The Wii sold more than 2 million units last month which is an all time record for the most amount of hardware sold in the US in a non-december month but dont think the DS is a fizzer though. Breaking the record for the second highest total sold in a non-December month is the Nintendo DS on 1.56 million units. More inside Nintendos record-breaking sales demonstrate that consumers are looking for the best value not only among video games, but also among all entertainment options, says Cammie Dunaway.

It wasnt just hardware that sold like hotcakes but Nintendo did pretty well on the software side of things as well. Four games made the top ten this month with Wii Play, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii coming in at positions three, four and five. And perhaps doing better then what people were thinking Wii Music debuted at position nine with 297,000 units sold. Activision should also be happy that Guitar Hero World Tour sold 475,000 units on the Wii the best World Tour version with the other console version failing to chart.
