Marvelous reveals new details on the latest hit in the Rune Factory series

Not to be outdone by other games getting substantial details revealed about them, Marvelous have released new information regarding Rune Factory Oceans, the fifth game in the publishing giant’s Rune Factory series.

Rune Factory Oceans will feature seasonal changes that will change dynamically as the real time clock advances. The implementation of seasons in this manner allows the developers to play around with the idea of changing looks for the towns in the game, featuring not only specific weather effects for towns but also season specific events such as Christmas and Easter.

During Summer, however, players will be able to take place in a swimsuit contest which is open to both male and female players. Players can vote for their favourite player at any beach that contains a voting booth.

Additionally, Marvelous also revealed several new modes that will be incorporated into Rune Factory Oceans, including quests and item synthesis. What’s more interesting, however, is the "Quests With Monsters" component of the gameplay, which will see monsters encountered on dungeons "wooed" over to the players party and them subsequently fighting along side them.

Rune Factory Oceans is currently due for release in Japan on February 24th 2011. When we hear news of a local release we will be sure to let you know.
