NBA Playgrounds on Switch finally patched, online play added

At last the first patch for NBA Playgrounds on the Nintendo Switch has finally arrived, the news coming via the ‘News’ section of the Nintendo Switch menu.

With the game now updated to 1.1.3 it now has full online play, ranked leaderboards and of course you can challenge your friends.

The patch also fixes another issue with the game, the entire shooting system. The timing for shots has been adjusted and a meter added for extra clarity. It’s one of the big issues we had with the game in our review.

Fifteen new players have been added to the game’s roster including Isaiah Thomas and Dennis Rodman. All fifteen new characters can be unlocked regularly through player packs, earned during the tournament or when levelling up your profile.

With online added and one of the big problems with the mechanics of the game fixed, will you be checking out the game now?

Can’t wait to try online multiplayer tonight ? Although, I’m not too sure why they needed to add a shot meter to the game, my mates and I never had any issues figuring out the timing of shots, if anything, Im worried that a shot meter will make scoring too easy and make the game feel as though no skill is required anymore

Oh it’s a good day. I’ve been pissed about the state of this game so I can’t wait to get stuck into this.

I’d really love to hear what ended up happening to get the patch through. Like what kind of compromises had to be made? How many babies were sacrificed to the Mario Shrine?
