After an earlier leak the wraps have officially come off LEGO Dimensions, Warner Bros’ toys-to-life answer to Skylanders, Disney Infinity and amiibo. LEGO Dimensions will fuse together many original and licensed characters into one game and storyline.

The game will feature characters from The Lego Movie and Ninjago as well as Batman, Lord of the Rings, DC Comics, Back to the Future and even The Wizard of Oz. All of the previously mentioned characters will be released sometime this year.

The starter pack though is where the fun starts and that includes a Stargate portal that you must build to get the characters in the game, , Gandalf, Wyldstyle, Batman and his batmobile.

The game will launch in Australia on September 28th and will launch with the Starter Pack and a range of ‘packs’ from various franchises with more details to come closer to launch.

The game will be released on the Wii U, Playstation 3 and PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One and 360.

I saw that, even shared it myself, my concern is that with it being Lego there is no limit to what they can release, through the years there have been sets on castles, ninjas, city, space, spies, dragons, batman, star wars, marvel, dc and more.

though I would not expect Marvel/Star Wars/ Disney characters to make an appearance just yet, of course it gets worse, when next year the Duplo expansion is released….

Also, that image with the date shows Hill Valley as the location of the letter, which is where Back to the Future was set…

I agree and I think that’s where the amiibos fall down, while they’ve been selling like crazy, I think it’s from a collectible point of view. The fact that wave 4 has ‘sold out’ in mere days says it all, Nintendo have really stuffed up the chances of making a central amiibo game. Still, I’m waiting for the Star Fox collection haha.
Also: another third party Wii U game, thank God for Lego!
