Hyrule Warriors Legends only supports 3D on the New 3DS

There have been Wii ports to the Nintendo 3DS before, Donkey Kong Country Returns didn’t need the New 3DS but Xenoblade Chronicles did. So when we learned that Hyrule Warriors, a Wii U game was coming to the 3DS surely that was going to need the new console? Not the case.

There is however one downside to playing Hyrule Warriors on a standard Nintendo 3DS, you won’t be able to play it in stereoscopic 3D. There’s simply not enough power to run the game in 3D on it and you’ll need a New 3DS to do so.

Hyrule Warriors Legends is nearly finished in development, but won’t be with us until 2016.

Kinda lame, I mean as if the 3D is really gonna make make difference, they should have just made it a new 3ds exclusive to really make a point.

Why alienate customers? Basically the hardware of the old 3DS would have caused some loss of frames when 3D was turned on. But if it functions fine on 2D, let users still buy and play it should they wish.
