Hide & Seek: What’s amiibo Mode in Captain Toad Treasure Tracker

The latest batch of amiibo hit the stores last week, with in that came the first Toad amiibo!

While you can use Toad in Mario Party 10 which came out the same day, you can also use him in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker to unlock some more fun within the game. You’ll need to get the latest patch to use the Toad amiibo but once you can unlock the Hide and Seek mode.

To see how it all plays check out our latest video below as we run you through it.

Hi everyone! I’ve been following Vooks for years now, and have finally decided to join your community. I look forward to the discussions I’m sure we will have.
In regards to the hide-&-seek mode, I actually gave this a go after I picked my amiibo up. A very cool and novel feature for amiibo collectors. I am also very pleased that the levels get stamped upon finding the toad sprite, it gives us completionists something to work towards.

I’m not sure if this was mentioned in the video or not, but if you scan any amiibo other than Toad, you will receive 1 or 2 bonus lives. You can scan amiibo twice consecutively, but you will need to wait a short while (about an hour or so) before you can scan the same amiibo again. I’ve tried this with all of my Super Mario series amiibo, but I’m not sure if there is a limit to how many amiibo you can scan for lives at any given time. At the moment, I’m guessing that it is unlimited, however, I’m yet to try it with more than five at a time.
