The Australian Classification Board has leaked new information regarding the upcoming title, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D.

According to the ACB, Monster Games Inc will be responsible for the 3DS port of Retro Studio’s successful Wii title.

Monster Games is well known for its racing titles and has previously worked with the Excite series (Excite Truck, Excitebots and Excitebike: World Rally) on the Nintendo Wii.

In recent times, the developer has stretched out of its comfort zone with the 3DS launch title Pilotwings Resort, and now also Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D.

While a release date is yet to be announced, at least we now know DKCR3D will be developed by Monster Games and rated G here in Australia.

DKCR3D ACB Classification (Good)

There’s still one other question to be answered though, what is Retro Studios currently working on?

I hope we do find out what Retro’s been up to at e3. I’m not sure if I want Metroid Prime 4 or something else entirely.

I loved Pilotwings Resort, so I’d say this port is in good hands.

I hope Retro are working on a new Star Fox or F-Zero. If anyone can bring those franchises back from the dead, it’s them. However, if I was a betting man I’d say they’re developing the new Mario Kart game on Wii U (because they did a great job with the classic tracks on the 3DS version).
