Heh, I'm house sitting my aunt and uncles house frommmm the 5th of Jan onwards, and was wondering if anyone is interesting in coming over and gaming and such? I know there's already many other party\gatherings around then, but we shall see eh?

This is just outside of Freo. There's plenty of LAN space, my uncles is famous for the ultimate LANability of the place. There's even about 3 PCs already capable of an awesome Diablo 2 session, so even if people just come we can get our D2 on. Not to mention Pizza Express a 5 minute walk away, with a Raiden Machine that's like a dollar for 2 credits or something awesome.

Uncles study has room for 4 or 5 PCs\people at a squeeze, has a CRT TV with Cube\megadrive, DVD player, digital box, all hooked into a kickass quality stereo system (DiG Jazz bgm FTW!) not to mention the widescreen CRT and Wii and loungeroom setup down the other end of the house (as well as large table for more LAN space optional)

So yes, invitation is for console gaming (ie Wii stuff) and LANning (specifically Diablo 2 since there's already said 3 PCs that will run it\HOMM3) over one night... maybe even TWO!

No idea how many of you guys like Diablo 2 or HoMM3, but those are the two most ideal games (ie you don't have to bring your own PC) so this might be aimed more at ENKC and his type :P

Then again we can always just get high on sugar and get the pokemon movies to watch. It's a tradition.

Hilton to be precise, it's a street that comes off of South Street, which is like the longest most awesome ah-now-I-know-how-to-get-there street in the world.

Me + Diablo II + Heroes of Might and Magic III + multiplayer = EPIC WIN! In fact, I just reinstalled D2 the other day.

Thank God this is (almost) in Perth though. It would be too much of a hike for me otherwise.

*Feels sad after realizing there is no hope of him ever joining in an epic party as mentioned, due to him being on another freakin' land mass on the other side of the globe.*

Sounds like we have at least 4 of us so far, epic for D2!

I might even put in a request that we're all up to Chapter 2 in Diablo 2, since every epic D2 LAN at my uncles (usually Ninja, uncle, uncles mate, me) ends at 2am halfway through Chapter 2. I think our record is getting to Chapter 3. In any case it's fairly serious business, since Ninja and I have never finishied it\got past Chapter 3 so we like to read the text and such, but I'm sure we're all mature enough to play the game in an awesome manner. (Okay who am I kidding?) I have a kickass Werebear who hits things and they go away, almost up to Chapter 2.

Ahem, anyway yes it shall be leet.

From memory my Sorceress is most of the way to Chapter 3. I have an Assassin and Necromancer on Chapter 2, but I don't much like their skill loadouts. I was just experimenting then. I should try the other characters as well.

Ah but there is hope.

If they were to setup Himachi which is a virtual lan program then you could play.
^_^

I played C&C Generals against a girl from Canada once. Ran very smoothly.

Just start afresh EN :P I think Ninja is run-around-and-do-lots-of-fringe-damage Assasin, I'm giant enemy-magnet-hit-things-and-they-die-tank so we'll probably need a support based Paladin\Amazon\Sorceress.

And please, no summoners :P

But truely, nothing is more awesome than a packed room of people comparing weapons etc in D2, or just fanning out into a room and laying waste to hoards of baddies. Epic stuff.

Oh I also HEAVILY reccomend Defcon (though it takes like 2 hours for one game) and even more so Multiwinia (though you'd need to bring your own 3D capable PC) both which are awesomely cheap games on Steam and both are awesome strategy games, Multiwinia more action packed and awesome than the sombre NUKE YOU ALL of Defcon.

Oh we can also do the 360 Halo thing as well.

Then install your game, start a LAN game and get a multiplayer Pladin up to Act 2 :P making sure you build him as if it were a 5p game, ie BRING ON TEH AURAS! Of course, sticking with just one powerful one is better than diversifying :P

Erm, but yes, on topic more Obs if you're coming, I suppose I\someone can train you up a character :D

Well I haven't played D2 multi before, so I have no idea how it even works. I may stick with my Sorceress though. She's of a distinctly icey inclination.

The same as single player, only the enemies get tougher with more players, and friendly auras etc effect those in your party. It's the only way to play D2, seriously.

So do you have to start from Act I? Does the pre-existing level of your character matter? I need to understand these mechanics beforehand.

Your character brings whatever they've done to the game. I'm not sure of the speicifics, but if we started a new game and you brought in your level 80 finished-the-game, your waypoints are all open and you've counted as done all the quests. If a level 1 were to join an act 5 game though, I think they can't do the quests, or at least not if they're partied up with those who've already done them.

Best thing forwards is to start with all of us freshly having reached Act 2. If you really wanted to use your sorceress, you can just not party up until we're up to the point you are (or not join the game until then) because if you joined us, you'd be many levels above us and since EXP is shared the "gap" would never "close" so to speak.

Ok I'm not good at stat building though so can you recommend anything?

So, are you saying the act you can start on is dependent on what one of the characters has unlocked? Is it essentially like taking someone's single player save and importing other characters into it? Maybe we'd all be best to start from Level 1 for the sake of simplicity. How many players can you have anyway?

Also, I fully intend to defeat someone at HOMM III. Preferably Plasma.
