It's unfortunate that these things happen, but the Santa angle was fairly incidental. If he'd been divorced in February he would have done the same thing. America has a major problem with these things thanks to their insistence on letting everyone have guns.

Sad. There was also another Santa shootout story on a different side that ended with the guy killing himself. May be the same guy, but I can't be bothered checking right now.
