It's back!

What's New?

Apart from the fancy new post, The V.C. has some new updates, to keep you interested and make it a snap to post. A few rule changes, such as being allowed to post shorter posts, etc. In addition, members can now post more times. Now for the exciting bit, when we finish this story, we need some way to broadcast the exciting story, no? I have contacted Vook on the idea of reading the finished story on Vookcast. He has said that: "in principal I have no issues." There are a few problems to solve such as the time it will take to read, but they can be easily solved as they come up, such as it being read in instalments, but first we need the story!

Remind me- what is The Vook Chronicle?

The Vook Chronicle is the topic that creates a story. I start off the story, the next member adds a short bit on, so does the next and so the story continues. If you need some background reading, read the old topic: http://www.vooks.net...ow...chronicle\

Updated Rules

Rule One: Post/Story Continuation must be at least 30 words (barely anything!). This is to avoid short, pointless posts that use up the space of the story. There is no maximum!

Rule Two: No slang, such as "LOL" or "ROTFL", etc. That means no dialogue like '"LOL! That's so funny!" said Fred'

Rule Three: No talking about unrelated things to the story like "My keyboard so sticky", you can put that at the end, but it won't be counted as part of your contribution to the story.

Rule Four: Keep it clean and appropriate!

The Fun Bit

In the spirit of Christmas, it will be a Christmas story, I'm going to try and incorporate elements of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Don't worry if you haven't read it. Each member can post up to five times. I will close the story on Christmas day. If it is unfinished, I will finish it.

Let's go, have fun and Merry Christmas!

No. 1

George hated Christmas.
Too modern, he thought.
One thing George did like though, was cheesecake. George was crazy about cheesecake.
Someone knocked at the door.
Muttering about how much he despised commercialised Christmas, George got up to answer the door.
There was a strange man who was wearing a Christmas hat.
"Hi," said the man, "My name's Fredrick, I'm from the Cheesecake Union, the protectors of the universe!"
"Oh! I love cheesecake!" said George.
"Little you know, sir... Cheesecake seems to be the centre of something far more sinister..."
"What do you mean?"
The man put his hand on George's shoulder and led him out of the door, "Sir, are you looking forward to Christmas this year?"

Try and make George like Christmas later in the story, to get to really enjoy it.
That was 110 words. Thirty is easy!

No. 2

George wasn't sure what this curious man in a Christmas hat wanted. He found himself gliding almost outside his cozy home, Frederick prodding him towards the pool of light cast by a streetlight.
"There's a part you play in all this George", the Cheesecake Inspector continued. "You see you have something to do with bringing about the end of Christmas and quite frankly that's something that's just not on."
