Ben Cousins drafted by Richmond

Personally I'm happy to see him back in the game. He really is an exciting player to watch and it would seem that Richmond might finally break into the top 8.
Also Carlton vs. Richmond Round 1 = Judd vs. Cousins. Should be good.

I have a spot in my mind saying that Essendon should have taken him, but then I remember the other mature aged recruits we've taken in passed years (Heffernan and Camporeale come to mind) so I'm just happy to see him actually playing. I'm happy with Skipworth although this thread is more about the impact of Cousins being drafter again I guess.
Still watching the blog, but it's all the rookies now. Nothing exciting.

So your saying the guy WHO HAS NEVER ACTUALLY FAILED A DRUG TEST should not be let back into the game. Yes he has admitted to using them, which was the right thing to do, hes trying to get his life sorted out. He was booted from the Eagles beause the police decided to chase him around Perth arrest him & not charge him with anything. If not for the media circus that followed that he would still be with the Eagles. Yes hes used drugs, but I'm guessing so has nearly half of the bloodly AFL, only difference is hes come out and admitted to it.

No it's not, he broke the rules on more then one occasion and took our club from being at the top of the league and respected to where we are now - at the bottom of the ladder. There was no way he could continue at the club considering what he had done.

I heard that as well. When I saw this I was thinking... errr... ok...
Meh, he could help them out a lot. Let's just wait and see if he's got his act together.

I don't think it was his fault entirely, they lost alot of good players.
Also on the whole drug thing, he wasn't the only player on drugs.....there were others with 2nd warnings, whose names should be publicised so the AFL can avoid another debarcle.

Now if every player in the AFL was drug test, I'd say at least 25% would fail. This may not be heavy usage of drugs, but cmon, high profile AFL players, large salaries, they are bound to get in some sort of drugs
