  • Zombies first appear in Juliet's school on her 18th birthday. Don't worry -- it's totally okay to take a peek!
  • Juliet is a cheerleader at her school.
  • Juliet's school, San Romero Highschool, is located on the West Coast (that would be of America, I believe) and is the largest school in the region.
  • Juliet's chainsaw is full of pink because pink is her favorite color.
  • By reaching certain conditions you can make Juliet's chainsaw power up, gaining new skills.)

Like with the rest of Grasshopper's titles, famed game musician Akira Yamaoka is heading up the sound staff. "We're putting a lot of effort into the soundtrack, definitely," commented Suda. "Part of the reason we established Grasshopper in the first place was so we could work on every part of a game in-house, and we treat sound especially importantly in this outfit. The sound team for Lollipop is led by Yamaoka and they're working on a whole array of pop tunes right now. Part of the gameplay might involve sound as well, although exactly how we're still keeping a secret."

No release date was given for Lollipop Chainsaw, which (according to Yasuda) already has an overseas publisher committed to releasing the game in English, although he didn't reveal who. "The game's framework is complete, and now we're deep into the fine-tuning process," Suda said. "I'd place it at around 70 percent complete. It's really a new era for zombie games -- a piece of 'pop' zombie entertainment."

Not sure if you saw it in the OP, but a publisher who has yet to be named has already committed to localising it.

It's my increasingly large back log and lack of free time .. that has lead to a non purchase! :(

Maybe when it's in the bargain bin.

I'm very very sure that Grasshopper are infinitely more talented developers than Tamsoft. ;)

Warner Bros Interactive (FEAR, Lego Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat) have agreed to public Lollipop Chainsaw in western territories.

WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND KADOKAWA GAMES BRING TOGETHER THE SWEET AND THE “UN-DEAD” IN LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW

Killer Heroine with a Chainsaw Fights to Stop Zombie Take Over in Suda51’s Latest Masterpiece for PS3 and Xbox 360

STOCKHOLM – August 1, 2011 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and KADOKAWA GAMES today announce a new partnership to bring Lollipop Chainsaw to gamers around the world in 2012 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be publishing the game outside of all Asian territories

Lollipop Chainsaw is an all-new third person action game being developed by GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE, led by celebrated gamemaker Goichi Suda (aka Suda51) and featuring the musical compositions of the renowned Akira Yamoaka. In addition to these two talented individuals, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has tapped Hollywood director/writer, James Gunn (Super, Slither, Dawn of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet) to bring his cult humor and edgy storytelling to Lollipop Chainsaw.

“Our exciting partnership with KADOKAWA GAMES allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets,” said Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE’s games have shown tremendous success with gamers around the globe and we are delighted to expand our portfolio of Japanese-developed games.”

“We are looking forward to partnering with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on our first entry into the HD console market," said Yoshimi Yasuda, President of KADOWAKA GAMES. "We are also thrilled to have a team like GRASSHOPPER and talent like Suda51 creating such an interesting and distinct game for us to work with and bring to the fans."
Lollipop Chainsaw is the ‘un-deadly’ story of sweet and killer zombie hunter Juliet Starling and her quest to uncover the root of a colossal zombie outbreak. With her wickedly awesome chainsaw in hand, Juliet slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead, but soon realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw wielding cheerleader.

I like it how her top is tight yet also flaps about freely exposing boob. A feat of design for sure.

Meh. It looks so forced and cheesy, that it's gone past the stage where you're supposed to take it in a light manner. In my eyes, it just looks plain stupid, and not in the good way. It's like they think people actually enjoy EXTREME GORE + BOOBS ALL THE TIME EVERY TIME. It's looking like a case of style over substance to me. I'm a fan of 'leave your brain at the door' entertainment, but even this is too much for me.

I'm interested for much the same reason as James. Since playing Killer7, Suda's mind has fascinated me.
That said, I haven't exactly kept up with releases, but it's something that I plan to do :P

No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned, Killer7, Michigan: Report from Hell, Flower Sun and Rain.

All amazing games, only one of which has conventional gameplay mechanics. I've seriously never been let down by a SUDA game just yet, they're so goddamn unique and so interesting in the way they're designed.

Killer7 really is an amazing game, especially once you get your head around the batshit insane plot.

Yeah, I wonder if this will be the big bad guy or just some pawn in the precedings. I like the idea and where the story is going though.

The game itself does look a little bit shallow though, but the other elements will probably make up for it. I really need to have some hands on before I can make a decision.

Like the look though, so far.

Hm, yeah looks cool ... but I'd like to see how it plays.

Does give me a bit of a No More Heroes vibe, which is a good thing!

So. much. jiggle. I can't tell if it's a terrible thing they went with "stereotypical cheerleader character" instead of mixing it up a little and surprising everyone. Hell, I'd rate this kind of "overt use of female assets" as worse than something like DOAX if it doesn't turn out to be more than its cover, so to speak.

DOAX was a bad game. If the volleyball in DOAX was as good as say Beach Spikers I'd have bought and kept it.
Lollipop Chainsaw looks like it'll be a competent game under the boobs.
Plus Suda, if you haven't finished a Suda game it's hard to explain the allure.

I'm saying that if "oh ho, here's a game that LOOKS like it's hurr durr sex sells, but we all know it will be so much more!" actually just turned out to be "hurr durr sex sells", then I'd say that's a bigger failure than "THIS IS A GAME ABOUT TITS, YOU KNOW IT WE KNOW IT BUY IT IF YOU'RE WEIRD."
