*Waiting for James to hijack this thread*

But oh yes, I will definitely be getting this game on launch. Really it's the only 3DS launch game that looks fun to me. I've been wanting to get the console version for a while now, but I think I'm going to get just this now as I hear that the 3DS version has everything the console versions have plus more.

Can't wait for some Street Fighter IV Vooks Wi-Fi as well, should be awesome!

Yeah we will defently have some Wifi matches going. It shall be grand.

I'm only picking up because it is a solid launch title which takes advantage of everything the 3DS offers. I'm not really a fan of the series. But that doesn't mean I wont enjoy it- it looks admazing.

In-game ads confirmed?

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Oh wah.

But flipping the conversation away from my bad spelling. With the ammount of people getting this game we should do some kind of Wifi Night.

I can imagine James kicking our collective arses if we did so something like this. It'd still be fun though, and I know there are quite a few Vookians getting the game at launch, so it won't be too hard to get the numbers for a proper tournament, something I don't think we've done since TvC came out over 12 months ago.

Yeah, it would be pretty unfair- expecially when I suck at these types of games/never owned Street Fighter.

Though it should be fun.

The touchscreen alone makes this game not only approachable to newcomers, but also completely changes how the game plays. It's interesting to see how it works.

I've played a few matches with VOOK and the online was pretty robust. It's a bit strange that this has more features online-wise than Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

For those who care, VOOK won most times. So yeah. >_>

I'll be picking this up, definitely interested in a WiFi night. I'll probably be on almost even footing with newcomers thanks to MvC3 completely changing the way I play. Tried to play SSFIV after playing MvC3 extensively, and it was just hard to get back into that mindset.
Plus the controls would be enough to bring a pro down a few notches, even James I'd say :P

I'll use the touch stuff- button mashing codes to do sh!t drives me insane.

We should do one before we all get sick of the 3DS. So This friday or next.

If it's this Friday, it'll have to be without me due to my computer situation which is still TBA. Next Friday I can organise one.

But just because we're no in the chat room doesn't mean you guys can't play online. Just add each others codes and join each other in games and such for the first week. I know that's what I'll be doing if I get a 3DS this week.

Mum picked this up today, but the 3DS hasn't arrived yet, so I got this shiny new 3DS game just sitting here with no way of playing it.

The worst kind of torture.

I play this on and off, played a few internet challenges too. Playing Arcade mode and get the interruption... I turned off the feature after I played a few matches, won convincingly, and wanted to complete another story..

I'm thinking I need to read the booklet a bit more so I can find out more than just what the buttons do (kick/punch variations) and the touch-screen special moves. I need to learn how the bars at the bottom fill, what they mean etc etc... all I know is I start to kick butt, then a combo or supercombo button appears, I press, I hit, I kick butt!

Oh, and I'm old-school at the moment, Guile and Ryu are sitting at my number 1 and 2 played characters.

About the bars at the bottom I'll be happy to explain.
The Super Bar (the big blue one) charges when you do special moves (pretty much anything that's not a standard punch/kick, anything like a Hadoken or Shoryuken etc).
Certain moves use a portion of the super bar, or if it's fully charged you can do a super move.

The other bar that fills is the Revenge meter, when it's completely full you can use your ultra move which will be mapped to the touch screen, or can be used with a button combination.

Revenge meter fills when you get damaged yourself, hence the name. You can manipulate the bar to fill quicker, however, by using Focus Attacks.

In regards to the streetpass battles, is your team always capped at a collective total of 20?

Yeah, a maximum level cap applies. I guess it's to keep a level playing field.
It's really a game of chance, do you put your high levels at the start or mid way etc. It's up to where other people have put their high levels and stuff.

Ok, I get the bars now, but one thing I just can't master and happen to have it as a load of luck is the trial challenge mode. Complete a trial with a certain combo of moves. I get to around trial 7-9 on a few players, but I can't manage to land a dual move combination. For example, crouch M punch; crouch M kick. I can land the first hit, but the second is blocked... I've figured I have to smack the guy a few times with something else to open him up for the hits, but struggle no-end to get it happening.

Is there something I need to do in order to perform such simple combo moves? I mean, before trial 10, there's plenty more to go that will only get harder...
