I remember when we had the MK wii wifi nights, but we all had to use wii wheels. I got owned
since that's my worst play choice.

Definitely Wiimote-Nunchuk combo. It's the most comfortable and easy to use control method and I feel gives me the best control over my vehicle. Actually, everything Toadsiliwraith said is pretty much my stance on things. Competitively no one would use the wheel unless it was a wheel only competition because the controls are a bit to iffy for more precise turns and such.
In regards to the Gamecube controller question, I own 2 wavebirds and 3 standard controllers.

I don't have MKWii, but when I play it at a friends house I use Classic Controller. I just prefer control sticks to waggle.

What does waggle even mean these days? Another word that's lost it's meaning IMO. I thought waggle was used to describe useless motion controls that were there for the sake of having them there. So MKWii controls aren't waggle for me. Something like the jump in de Blob counts for me.

Exactly this. Mario Kart Wii has perfect controls.

As do Galaxy, NSMBWii, etc. It is about subtlety, and Nintendo know better than anyone how to use it.

Yeah, the Wii games that I play regularly are all Nintendo because they just know how to make the best games with the best control systems, too bad they wont show any other developers how to make good games

Well they've had 4 years, they shouldn't need to be shown. Some devs are just in it for a lazy cash-cow.
