Ms Lappin began working at Nintendo as a State Manager in 1994 (in the then Queensland branch), moving up to be the General Manager of Sales from 2000 to 2003 and the Director of Sales and Marketing from 2003 to 2007 and most recently as the Manager Director. br / br / Rose has been involved with Nintendo before the formation of Nintendo Australia in 1994, with her working with Mattel who distributed Nintendo products here before that. br / br / Speaking to ChannelNews.com.au Rose has told of her time at the company quot;I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nintendo Australia and have enjoyed working with everybody here. Nintendo Australia, and Nintendo globally, is made up of some fantastic people, and it has been an honour to be the Managing Director for almost three years,quot;. says Rose. quot;Nintendo has been through many exciting changes during my time here, so it has been great to be a part of that. I love the gaming industry, and will definitely miss it,quot; br / br / Rose has been with Nintendo through the hard times and now the good times but she says that in 2003, quot;many people had written Nintendo off, but we had to keep the business going. Now in 2010, we have new products, and business is going well, but we have to make sure that we dont get complacent. I believe it is critical to have focus and drive the business at all times,quot;. The GameCube launched in 2002 only sold 160,000 consoles in itrsquo;s lifetime, the Wii currently sites at 1.75 million. Rose was also the behind the feud with Harvey Norman over trading terms and the Wii. She denied the retailer access to the product after they tried to dictate trading terms. Eventually after the Wii became the hit it became they relented. br / br / Roses postition will be taken by Mr Yuji Bando who is currently residing in Japan. Not sad, she's been there for ages so it's not like she's being forced out or anything. She was the first women head of any Nintendo branch and has taken Nintendo Australia from infancy (and even before that), through the Dark Ages (GameCube) and is going out on top.

Never met her though, and now never will. Don't know the new guy at all and could be a super strict Japanese suit... or not.

Interesting times.

Imo if she accuarly did read my comments about NAL sucking and was quite upset about them then I would kind of feel bad. Expecially considering they think they are doing good.

Considering she's bought them through the times where we would always get the sh!t end of the release date stick to something a bit more consistent now, I'd say she can be glad with the amount she's done to improve the situation. Hopefully this new Japanese guy can keep it going and get it up to an even better place.

Sad to see her go actually. For once someone was fighting for us down under to stop game delays and managed to get Club Nintendo up and running even though she had Nintendo Japan on her back. It'd be good for someone from the Vooks staff to get an interview or even get her on the Vookcast although it's unlikely. I'm really sceptical about this new dude we're getting, cause the last Jap who ran NAL didn't do anything about game delays. Kudos, Rose.

Also not to sound racist- but why can't we have someone from Australia in the spot- aka someone familiar with our way of dealing with things and our issues?
