I'll be kind of upset if this is a full retail game, if its just going to be DLC then thats awesome, but I'm really not keen on buying the whole game again.

If the game is adding ten new characters, revamping the UI (which we know it is) as well as rebalancing - we won't be able to implement those changes as a patch. Oh, yeah, not to forget new stages, new intros/endings for each characters and the necessary data for their Challenge Modes too. Let's not forget the "Rival" music that plays during specific battles and you've got a lot of data that you're delivering through an update which will never happen. lol

Apparent screenshots have been leaked. Not so sure, but the revisions and artworks are new enough and not previously used to make me think they are indeed real. Shows new character "Juri" along with returning SF2 character, "T-Hawk".





Either way, announcements will be coming our way in approximately 13-14 hours.

Anyone expecting to cash in on all the preowned discs that will be flooding the market?

It's looking more and more likely that the original rumours are true. Shoryuken members posted up the following details, and most of them have proven to be true. Underlined stuff is the stuff that's already been confirmed, while bolded stuff is interesting. =D

* Dudley has his Chain combos from Third Strike, plus one additional Chain combo.
* Cody is the only character with an Alpha Counter and he still has his knife. He supposedly needs his knife to perform one of his Ultras.
* Rufus can cancel-break the last hit of his Spectacle Romance, or the launch kick of Space Opera Symphony.
* Guy has his Chain combos.
* Makoto has her Tanden Renki Super from Third Strike.
* Zangief is said to have a 720 degree motion Air Ultra called the Siberian Blizzard.
* The game takes place one year after Street Fighter 4.
* Dudley was searching for his car in Third Strike, in this game he's searching for a rose.
* T. Hawk's storyline involves him protecting Juni or Juli.
* Dhalsim's new Ultra is called the Yoga Shangri'la.
* There's a new gameplay system called Tadan Saving, the phrase implies a multi-hitting or multiple-level Focus Attack.
* The console characters are all said to be added to the upcoming arcade release, with the possible exceptions of Seth and Gouken.

EDIT 2: Interview with Ono, where my original statements come from. Around 3:30 he comfirms it's a full disc game, and at 3:50 says that it won't be a full price. 5:05 is where he mentions a reward for people who keep a hold on their SF4 disc. Aiming for a Spring 2010 release.

I also hope that the DLC works across all versions of SF4, I don't want my $29-ish of D:C to go to waste.

The "gift" is probably the transfer of the DLC.

Either way, I'm not gonna be one of those people who keeps going on about how THIS BETTER HAVE SOME KIND OF COMPENSATION as such because I'm gonna buy it regardless of price. The news that this isn't a full priced game is great, considering what they're adding.

That being said, I wonder if SSF4 will incorporate more characters than just T-Hawk and DeeJay. I keep assuming that the rumours are true. =P

Was there a big difference from SF3 and the next two iterations of it?

I hope Ibuki does end up in this game, she was so much fun to play as. I also want parry moves back, I doubt they will seeing as how they are trying to keep it more in touch with SF2, but still, I love that sh!t.

In the interview I linked Ono says that he's after about 8 new characters, but this could change depending on the fans.

Personally I can't wait to try out the rumoured SFIII characters as I've never played SFIII before. Juri also looks really interesting so I'll be sure to try her out.

I recently picked up the Anniversary Collection for the Xbox, which runs perfectly on the XBox 360. It really does show that Third Strike was amazing and it was no wonder it got a lot of people into the game.

Interested to see how they transition into the SF4 style gameplay. Though, to be honest, I preferred the more "weird" characters from Street Fighter III than the others - like Q, Twelve and Elena.

Oh, and apparently, Juri is a lesbian, joining Zangief and Eagle in the gay Street Fighter characters:

Another update from a recent interview with Ono.

* Super Street Fighter 4 is tentatively set for a spring 2010 release.
* The update will be released on a disc, and won't be available as DLC (Downloadable Content) — but the game will be priced as an upgrade — not a brand new title.
* As this time, they're thinking of adding about 8 characters to the game. (Rumors currently have this pegged at 10 fighters total).
* Capcom is planning on adding more features to the online modes. Things so people can enjoy playing as a group. (Sounds like lobbies are in).
* There will be tweaks and balance changes, along with more online stuff and new features the developers are adding in.
* Bonus Stages aren't 100% confirmed, but it sounds very likely they'll be making it into Super Street Fighter 4.
* You won't need the original disc to play this update, but fans who have a copy of SF4 will be, "happy to have held on to it," as they'll be receiving something nifty.
* Juri is a Korean Tae Kwan Do fighter and is very important to the storyline.
* They skipped "Champion Edition" and "Turbo" and jumped straight to "Super" for the name of this upgrade because of the scale and size of what they're planning.

Fresh off the press, the latest issue of Famitsu confirms that Street Fighter II's bonus stages will be making an appearance in Super Street Fighter IV. Players will be able to smash cars, demolish drums, and break barrels in full 3D. No word on whether there'll be any new bonus stages accompanying them.

Super Street Fighter IV is due out early next year. It will be a new disc, not DLC, unfortunately - though Capcom encourages you to keep the original disc for some extra goodies.
