Pokemon Gold and Silver will be heading to the DS later this year dubbed Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

Nintendo has just announced that Pokemon Gold and Silver (like we all expected) are heading to the Nintendo DS. The games have picked up new titles and are now dubbed Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

New elements will be added to the game to celebrate the return to the Johto region, the games graphics and sound will also receive a boost but we can’t imagine it’ll look too different from the latest Pokémon titles.





The games are being released to coincide with the games original release in Japan ten years ago and will be released later this year (Fall in Japan).

Hmm, which one to get... I've always gotten the first of the games in the past (Red, Gold, Ruby, Diamond) but I've always liked Lugia more than Ho-oh, and I like the title Soul Silver better...

Wonder what other changes they'll bring? DSi specific funtions maybe?

Are Gold and Silver really as great as people make out? I haven't played a Pokemon game since Red and have been considering picking up Platinum, but maybe I'd be better off waiting for this remake? I'm not likely to find the energy to play both.

Soul Silver for me. The save battery in my copy of Silver died years ago, erasing my game. One of the greatest games of my childhood. Lugia, always.

Yeah, course it is. It'd just require taking it down to Game Traders and having them repair it with a new battery. But, I just haven't had the chance to do so.

really? awesome. how much does this cost? and does it leave some form of mark or whaver from once opened game case. I kind of like things still in good condition. (call me insane, but thats me )

why the excitement over a remake? i dont want to get in the he discussion from the other thread... but in the end, its basicly the same game you played years ago, just with slightly better graphics and a couple of extra things.....

people dis nintendo for their 'wiimakes' that IMO really change the game up due to a totally diff control scheme but are so excited over pokemon remakes....

Because Pokemon Gold and Silver are good Pokemon games, once you finish it you can go back to Kanto and get another 5 6 hours out of it.

Because the overworld and story are 10x that of Diamond? Not to mention Johto pokemon

I assure you, if there were the means of trading pokemon from the original GS, I'd still be playing that and not worrying about this. But alas...

I dont like the Heart Gold title either. But I guess it goes well with the "you got a heart of gold" saying. >_>

I'm not bothered by this remake because I never had the original.
