My 27th Birthday
epic GameCube wai-con Nintendo E-von NGC Controller Fernando surprise Birthday 27 party family friends videogames bake cake awesome
I was supposed to do something big this year for my 27th birthday, but never really got around to it. I guess being busy as usual tends to stop the planning.
So I presumed it would be just a quiet night out with E-von; seeing as she asked me to make sure I had this certain time and date free. Luckily I made the afternoon free, since it fell on the second day of the second day of Wai-con at the Perth convention centre. I decided to attend for the first time with my younger brother David.
For those not in the know, Wai-con is Perth’s premier Anime convention promoting Japanese anime, manga, culture and gaming that is run over two days in the final weeks of January.
By the time I finished up at Wai-con, I was tired. I just wanted to crash into bed but had to prepare to go out again. The place I had to be at was located in Fremantle. It was called ‘The monk’ formerly known as ‘The Monk Brewery’.
Prior to all this happening, I was under the impression something was going on - seeing as I’m the paranoid type, though I let it slide. But the only reason it was set off was because I got informed that my mum would not pick up my younger bro at my house after attending Wai-con, but only after we head out to the restaurant . >.>
It was 100% obvious now and it all made sense a surprise was planned.
I rock up to the booked private room and to my semi-surprised face that close friends and family were here.
Great night was had anyway, despite the tiredness and spoiled surprise. Here's some of the food eaten on the night.
But the main attraction of the night which I wanted to share with you all was the epic birthday cake E-von made. Let’s just say this was more than a surprise.
B’day cake comes out, and noooooo sh!t, it was a motherf*cking Nintendo GameCube with a controller!!!
If there was anything to get to my heart; anything Nintendo GameCube related was one of them.
I knew she was baking me a cake, but nowhere in my mind would I ever predict she make this.
She told me, it was quite a feat, considering the short amount of time she had. Also telling me that she totally nerfed the controller. I told her the controller was pretty f*cked up but it didn’t matter because it was still recognisable...oh and awesome regardless.
So that was my 27th B’day.
One definitely to remember for the ages.
