Might as well make it now, while I'm in the mood.
So, team building.
I've decided to go for a generally speedy team this time around, hopefully that goes well. So far, I've decided on;
TYPHLOSION
CROBAT
STARMIE
ALAKAZAM
...the other two I gotta work on.
See y'all on launch day! (Or sooner. Yeah, most likely sooner.)

pretty good set-up there
looks like 2 physical and 2 special sweepers. I suggest for the last 2 pokemon to be support pokemon since you might be in a pickle due to the fragility of sweepers.
p.s alakazam is one of my all-time favorites

If you want to keep things a little more interesting I suggest these 2 pokemon.
miltank (for a great defensive wall)
- Body Slam
- Milk Drink
- Stealth Rock/Curse
- Heal Bell/Earthquake
only one weak typing to fighting, though its defenses are epic. use curse to boost up defenses even further. plus you have milk drink to use if you run out of hp and of potions early in game to replenish your pokes (especially in caves). stealth rock if you prefer some damage if one of your pokes has whirlwind or roar. body slam is great as an all-round attack that can paralyze nearly all pokes. earthquake or heal bell as last choice.
Shuckle
- Encore
- Bide
- Wrap
- Rest/Toxic
Basically shuckle is a perfect pokemon to wither down certain pokemon to a certain point where your sweepers can come in a hit hard. saving pp and the sweeper itself.
otherwise you could just invest early and get either a;
Gyarados (my personal move-set)
-Outrage
-Avalanche
-Aqua Tail
-Payback
or
Dragonite
- (insert whatever you prefer that accompanies your team)
the great thing about playing through the game, is that you don't have to invest in perfect move-sets, IVs, EVs and breeding etc. since the CPU intelligence isn't that challenging so basically just level up until you get the desired moves and finding those certain TMs for extra access to moves.
I'm contemplating whether to use low tiered pokemon through my campaign.
too many times where I've leveled a magikarp to a gyarados very early in the game just to smash the gym leaders out of the park later...too easy.

awesome. dragonite pwns. though the crawl to level 55 a bit steep it will be worth it once your vsing the elite 4.
Phantom Ganon

I'll be honest with you. I'm going to gung-ho it. Typhlosion will be the only one that'll definitely stay in my team the whole way. The rest are going to rotate like mad depending on what I feel like.

Forretress is a great wall, having base 140 defence. I've always found it fun using him. The good thing about him as well is that hey has access to self-destruct so if a certain Elite 4 Pokemon is giving you trouble KA BOOM! Also being extremely slow his Gyro Ball is really powerful.
If you wanted a special wall then Blissey is a great choice, not only does she have excellant HP and Sp.Def but she has access to the elemental moves(Ice Beam, Flamethrower and Thunderbolt) as well as Wish, giving you great coverage and healing for your team.

Oh... So I'm the only one who only chooses Pokemon they like, and not because they're in the highest tiers? .-.
