Yesterday I decided to whip out Pokemon Crystal on the old Gameboy Colour, but to my dismay, I discovered the battery (or whatever it is) in the cart had carked it. I have been wondering what makes you 'good' at games.

So what is it that gauges how good you are? Is how quickly you progress through a single player game or how you perform online? Or how well you can pick up and play a game and become competent?
I don't play games everyday, so there are plenty of games I haven't finished yet....
